Wilson-Covington Receives Two Preservation Awards

2013 Annual Conference - Edenton (331) (2)Wilson-Covington Construction Company is very proud to have received two awards for historic preservation/restoration from Preservation North Carolina at their annual conference in Edenton, NC last week.

Hayes Wauford, Executive-Vice President, received the awards on behalf of Wilson-Covington.

Wilson-Covington removed the existing reconstructed fort and installed 2,000 hand-worked pine posts on the original site of this French and Indian War era fort, the only one of its kind on the original footprint in the South.

Wilson-Covington completed a full interior and exterior restoration of this early 19th-century timber-framed Georgian home. This included all plumbing, electrical, and geothermal heating and cooling. Original wainscot, mantles, and overmantles were reinstalled and new trim and windows fabricated to match the original where missing.

Wilson-Covington Restores Water Pump- Old Salem

Wilson-Covington Construction Company has completed the restoration of the pump on the square in Old Salem, Winston-Salem, NC. This work included rebuilding the cap, repairing the pump stand, and repairing all internal plumbing. Thankfully the pump is now in condition to be enjoyed by thousands of children for years to come.

Idols Dam

Idols Dam

Idols Dam was constructed in 1897/8 and was the first hydroelectric dam in North Carolina. The generator house has fallen into disrepair following a fire in 1998 and now local historic restoration experts are looking into restoring this significant structure.

Harris Teeter #395 Wake Forest, NC Grand Opening

Wilson-Covington Construction Company is proud to have completed this new store for Harris Teeter in Wake Forest, North Carolina. This project continues Wilson-Covington’s portfolio of grocery and retail work thanks to an experienced team of project managers, superintendents, and carpenters.

Wilson-Covington Nears Completion on Residential Remodel

Please enjoy these photos of the latest residential project from Wilson-Covington Construction Company. This whole-house remodel included the kitchen, all bathrooms, all interior finishes, and extensive custom woodwork and cabinetry. The billiard room featured built-in bookcases and a coffered ceiling, along with chevron-pattern flooring.

All custom cabinetry is by Wilson-Covington. The kitchen cabinets were provided and installed by The Cabinet Studio.
